Exploration
- The spring 2024 exploration included the first property-wide Xcalibur HELITEM2 electromagnetic and magnetic airborne geophysical survey carried out at a 50 metres line-spacing.
- During 2024 a property-wide Worldview 3 satellite survey was conducted and interpreted.
- A summer 2026 exploration program is being planned to carry our prospecting and geological mapping to ground truth and prospect anomalies from the 2024 airborne and satellite surveys, with the potential for a drill program in the fall of 2026.
History
- This project includes several mineral occurrences, five of which are orogenic-style Au and one known orthomagmatic sulphide occurrence: the DC (Dead Chicken) Creek nickel occurrence, discovered and trenched by Northern Dynasty Explorations Ltd. in 1988.
- Two holes were drilled beneath the trench in 2008 by Benton Resources. DH AL08-008, located 25 metres south, intersected 1.57% Ni over 7.80 metres between 32.00 and 39.80 m down-hole and DH AL08-09, located 50 metres south, intersected .59% nickel and 0.037% cobalt over 1.50 metres from 73.00 and 74.50 metres down-hole. The showing has never drilled since, and the claims lapsed in 2022, at which time Perseverance Metals staked them.
Geology
- The Armit Lake Property is located within the west-northwestern portion of the 150km by 100km, volcanic-dominant, neo-Archean Savant-Sturgeon Greenstone Belt (SSGB) within the eastern part of the Western Wabigoon Subprovince of the Archean-age Superior Province. The Property is underlain by the mafic metavolcanic, ultramafic metavolcanic or intrusive, and clastic and chemical metasedimentary rocks of the Jutten Group of the Savant portion of the SSGB. Metamorphic grade is upper greenschist grading into lower amphibolite facies adjacent to granitoid intrusive rocks.
- The Jutten Group rocks underlying the Property consist of tholeiitic metabasalt flows; some undetermined ultramafic rocks; narrow chemical metasedimentary intervals; and minor clastic or volcanoclastic metasedimentary intervals.
